Coming from cosmeceutical giant VMV Hypoallergenics, the VMV Subtle Shine Lipstick in Giddy did not give me any allergies, other negative reactions or darken my lips. It simply is a gentle hypoallergenic lipstick that a lot of sensitive people who tend to have reactions around the lips (Kira raises hand!) and chin will love.
I know, I know, the price is a little steep and I hesitated a bit (as I always do when purchasing products from VMV), but I think its validated claims above make up for the high price tag.
The VMV Hypoallergenics Subtle Shine lipstick in Giddy imparts a bright coral-pink hue, it sort of reminds me of my MAC Lustre lipsticks as it feels very weightless on the lips but packs a lot of color and sheen. Although, I feel like it has too much of a slip to it when applied and I end up going beyond my lip lines if I'm not too careful. It would be advisable to have a mirror handy when re/applying. This is a brighter shade compared to MAKE UP FOR EVER's La Boheme Rouge Artist Lipstick in Folk.
Due to its glossy nature, it really doesn't stay long on the lips and lasts an hour or two with obvious fading by the second hour, but it does leave a slight orange tinge. The other downside is that it's only moisturizing upon application, but starts to lose its moisturizing quality when it starts to fade. In the photo above you'll see some dry patches on my lips (I blame the heat for making my lips dry yet again), this lipstick does fade rather unevenly and tends to settle into fine lines as well.
Tip: Apply a good moisturizing balm first, blot well with a tissue, then apply the VMV Subtle Shine lipstick in Giddy.
GWP: I was also given sampler sizes of VMV Hypoallegenics products complete with their own spatulas :D
I love these miniature versions, perfect for road-testing and patch-testing :)
What other bright lipsticks can you recommend for summer? :)
