But the fun we had at Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum is something that every one should experience (if your family is game, that is). Since our hotel was in Kowloon, we had to take a cab to the Peak Tram station where we were to board the Tram which would take us high in the mountains to the Peak Tower.
We purchased the combo package (Peak Tram roundtip + Sky Terrace + Madame Tussaud's) for HKD 230 but you can also purchase tickets separately for each.
The Peak is often dubbed Hong Kong’s most spectacular destination, but even just getting to it can be almost as spellbinding. The Peak Tram opened in 1888 for the exclusive use of the British governor and The Peak’s residents, but today it can be enjoyed by everyone as the steepest (with the steepest inclination at a 27 degree angle) funicular railway in the world. The journey takes only seven minutes and is a visual experience to remember, as skyscrapers glide past at what appear to be impossible angles while the tram makes its ascent (source).
Our favorite stop is Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum where popular sports stars, Kung Fu stars, cultural figures, iconic cartoon characters, Hollwyood Stars and other notable celebrities are showcased. Too bad Robert Pattinson, Lady Gaga and Nicole Kidman were on vacation.

Whew! There were a lot more celebrities but these are my top faves so far. After that, we went to the Sky Terrace where a breathtaking view of the Hongkong skyline was waiting for us. This is why it is recommended to come to the Peak at night, the view is absolutely amazing!
It's so cold and windy at the top, very romantic! Please, will somebody propose to me here please? Please? Haha. It's best to bring a cardi because it really is terribly cold, and I was wearing a damn skirt. Arrggh...
After a full day of going around Hongkong Island and Kowloon, we were pooped! In the next few days (or weeks) I'll blog about the happiest place on earth -- guess where that is? :)
