Current obsession: Non-foaming Facial Cleansers

I rarely step into a mall these days. but every time I do I end up purchasing milky/cream cleansers. I've been using the VMV Red Better Deeply Soothing Cleansing Cream since last year, and then sort of snowballed from there. To date I have quite a *few* but I'm thinking it's a little too much since I only have 1 face and I only wash it max of twice a day.

Still, let me share with you the ones I have accumulated so far. I still feel like I have more in my stock room but these are the ones I was able to round up this early Friday morning:

They all have fancy-schmancy names but they're all pretty much mild non-foaming creamy cleansers suitable for reactive and sensitive skin. I think what's missing here is the Philosophy Purity Cleanser and Kosmea Purifying Cream Cleanser which I plan to purchase soon. Some of these products may find themselves on the blog again if I feel like reviewing them individually.

I have not explored gel cleansers extensively which are non-foaming as well, but I do have about 2 products here at home that are awaiting usage.

What are your current obsessions/impulse buys?
Share them with me below, I want to know I'm not alone!

  1. Love cream cleansers. I only have 2 from olay and 2 from vmv currently. I think andalou naturals has one too, it's more in the 'milk' category. I want to one!

Anyway, have you tried any of the re-everythings? My cream cleanser from the line started to smell way before expiration date. The lotion too.

  2. Hi Rae! I was checking out Andalou Naturals at Healthy Options today and am interested to try their Meyer Lemon Creamy Cleanser mainly because of the Manuka Honey, Jojoba Oil, and Rosehip Oil content. Will research on it more :)

As for the VMV Re-Everything, yes I am a fan of the Eye Cream! They do smell funny but I've been told it's because they don't use any artificial scents to mask the actual scent of the products. You can read all about the reasons for Re-Everything's "smell" here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152092186603990.

  3. I don't like cream cleansers. I actually prefer the super foamy, ultra lathering ones, ehehehe. My favorite so far is Shiseido's foaming cleanser. It has an understated floral scent that doesn't veer into smelling "old" and is such a joy to rub all over the face :)

  4. Haha, I do alternate my cream cleansers with a foaming one on days when I'm extra oily. I discovered though, that cream cleansers are not create equal -- some are more hardworking than others :)

  5. Love non-foaming cleansers, too. I feel like switching "mild", non-foaming cleansers kept my skin in balance?

Started with Cetaphil, then Physiogel, and now Hyalure (all from Mercury Drug). Tried a few cleansing milks here and there in between but I might just alternate those three in the future.

Or just go out and get that Clinique Cleansing Balm I've been eyeing for months! Would love to see a Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser review if you have time. I got a sample sachet before but I think I have poor judgment back then.

    Latest impulse buy: Lipsmackers.

  6. Hi Yan! My Kiehl's is still unopened, got it as a sample last Christmas. Sure, will definitely review it :)

I haven't tried Hyalure, how is it? Is it cheaper than Cetaphil and Physiogel? Those two are my skin care staples, they're my first step in my double cleanse routine. :)

  7. Hi, I forgot how much it cost but I think it's generally around the same price range as Cetaphil and Physiogel. The consistency is closer to Physiogel but it's fragrance-free unlike Physiogel and SLS-free unlike Cetaphil. :-)

  8. Thanks so much for the info! :D

  9. I love Philosophy Purity! Physiogel is also nice but doesn't take all the makeup off. Avene's is too mild for me haha. I prefer non-foaming cleansers right now too. :D How do you like VMV's cleanser? I've tried samples of their Illuminants+ Cleansing Cream and liked it very much.

  10. I like the VMV Red Better Cleanser! It's more hardworking than Mustela's, but the thing is, the former stings the eyes -_-

  11. I was able to try one cleansing milk and it's from Marks & Spencer, I didn't like the feeling of it, maybe hindi lang ako sanay cause I have super oily skin. Cetaphil breaks me out naman. Currently I'm using cleansing gel from Avalon Organics and I bought another one from Andalou Naturals too. I noticed, I'm not excreting too much oil now...

  12. Hi @eiss! Is it Andalou or Avalon that has somehow lessened your oiliness?
